ACM mobilizes, inspires, energizes, and meets crying needs

Since ACM’s creation in 2023, we’ve managed to be financially viable thanks to the support of the valley’s municipalities, a few grants, the generosity of artists from all disciplines and the dedication of our volunteers.

Since its inception, ACM offered over 57 activities, recruited 150 artist and citizen members and created a number of unforgettable moments, including: music and song concerts, dance performances and evenings, writing workshops with Robert Lalonde and Jonathan Harnois, meetings and workshops with painters, sculptors, drawers, storytellers, musicians and others, creative workshops for the family, a visual arts exhibition, a photo contest and exhibition and, most recently, two literary shows.

We meet crying needs by offering quality events, outside the large cities, in venues on a human scale, invariably inclusive, allowing a real exchange between the population and the artists. We reach out to people of all ages, languages and cultures, for example with the literary show Let’s not kill the hope of the world.

We create communities of spirit that link us together in our humanity, pushing back the isolation and dehumanization that is increasingly rampant.

Your many, many comments reflect your enthusiasm:
It’s amazing what ACM can achieve!
It’s almost a miracle!
We’ve been hoping for this for a long time!
It’s great to be able to talk to the artists and meet interesting people…

These are much-appreciated balms, which make up for all the difficulties overcome by our team in managing, coordinating and hosting the event, graciously offering their time and experience.

Your encouragement to continue the tremendous work we do with dedication and determination is essential, but not enough!

Now it’s time to ask you for a boost that goes a little further than words of congratulation.

Without you, all our efforts are not enough! Quality implies financial resources, mainly for workshop equipment, technical devices, fees, rentals, promotion, posters, flyers to spread the word, and so on. Above all, we want to remunerate our artists, who are all too often being exploited; even if they often want to offer their services free of charge, trade union legislation prohibits them from doing so. We are now recognized as a Theatre Company (ACT) and therefore respect UDA tariffs.

By keeping registration fees very low, we remain affordable, especially when it comes to young families. Our tickets remain below average (including taxes and services) for shows involving several specialized performers and artists, such as: Marie-Thérèse chante Barbara with Marie-Thérèse FORTIN and Yves LÉVEILLÉ; Mon voyage en Amérique with Pascale MONTPETIT; the Kerouac show, Cosses-tu penses mon p’tit bonhomme with Robert LALONDE, Tomás JENSEN and KARÈYA, presented at the mythical Piggery Theatre and more than 15 venues there after, the literary show Untameable Virginia Woolf with Robert LALONDE, Johanne HABERLIN, Bénédicte DÉCARY, Catherine LE SAUNIER, and director Lorraine PINTAL and the ‘Grand partage’ with local artists. All of these shows were sold out and thrilled our audiences. In addition, the Ne tuons pas l’espoir du monde (Let’s not kill the hope of the world) show with more than 30 artists on stage was made possible entirely thanks to your donations.

Our plans for next year are sure to delight you, especially as you’ll be involved!

A simple donation on your part can make all the difference. We humbly suggest that you donate $1 per successful activity, or even better, $10 per success ($57) or $570, and why not become a benefactor and help finance a future show or our family activities. The impulse that will give us wings!

Donations of any kind are essential to us and provide crucial impetus for our many achievements.
