Writing Workshop with Jonathan Harnois
Creative writing workshop : ÉLAN
June 8-15-22-29, 2024 (4 Saturdays)
September 28-29, 2024 (weekend formula)
Any adult with a desire to write is welcome, regardless of writing experience.
These new workshops are particularly aimed at those who have already taken Jonathan Harnois’ basic workshop.
Anyone can also start with these workshops, as they are different and complementary, but remain independent of each other.
They are spread over 4 Saturdays (June 8-15-22-29, 2024) or a 2-day weekend with or without accommodation (September 28-29, 2024).
Under the banner of literary audacity, this series of writing workshops offers an experience full of discovery and amazement.
The tools, reflections and exercises give everyone the keys to nourish their creative fire and transform the blank page into a playground of multiple possibilities. All in an atmosphere of non-judgment and kindness.
Each workshop allows you to explore a new dimension of writing.
WORKSHOP 1: THE MAGIC IS IN THE DETAILS
A text comes to life through the quality of the details that make it up. An opportunity to explore the magic hidden in the details of everyday life!
WORKSHOP 2: THE WORDS THAT BIND US
Words have value: by discovering their potential, their scope, their flavor, their music, we explore the realm of subjectivity that is attached to language.
WORKSHOP 3: THE MERITS OF PASTICHE
Mimetic writing has a paradoxical power. Unlike parody and plagiarism, the practice of pastiche has the effect of giving even greater tone and authenticity to one’s personal style.
WORKSHOP 4: WORDS HAVE EARS
Through a multi-sensory journey, immersion in a world of sounds, olfactory and visual stimuli, the body takes center stage in the creative space. Through imagination and spontaneity, the blank page is gradually transformed into an exhilarating playground.
The workshop master works a lot on the state of mind. Above all, he encourages you to get out of “performance” mode. There are no good or bad students. Each person makes the exercises their own in their own way.
Your friends and spouses are welcome!
