Let’s not kill the world’s hope

Beyond breathless indignation and horizon-less “everything is going to be ok”, a jazz show and text readings celebrating what there is still and always to celebrate. In other words, the beauty and vitality of our world, abandoned by the power-hungry so-called leaders who are busy paralyzing everyone’s spirit.

Enough of alienating political inaction !

Enough of the mind-numbing comfort of an inward-looking attitude that hinders all sources of joy !

To the tune of the song “Ne tuons pas la beauté du monde” (“Let’s not kill the world’s beauty”), a gathering where music, poetry, polemics, proclamations, manifestos and professions of faith in the durability of the beauty of our world, which we all agree is on the brink of extinction, will be the order of the day.

Have you had enough of suffocating despair, ineffectual disenchantment and inoperative whining? Join us, at an open mic, to counter the paralyzing despair and current disengagement, both of which stifle dreams, speaking out with and for citizens who, like you, are sick and tired of idle opinions and arbitrary impediments to progress.

Two great jazz musicians – Yves LÉVEILLÉ, jazzman and pianist of international repute, and Daniel MILLE, renowned accordionist – will set the pace for your fiery, unbridled words, interpreted by a different set of top-flight performers for each show. For the launch Pascale MONTPETIT and myself, Robert LALONDE, will be part of the adventure.

Send us your texts full of hope – poems, prose, rap, heartfelt cries, gutsy slams and more. We’ll select a dozen of these texts (1 to 7 pages maximum), which will be read by professional speakers during the show and published on our website.

Our approach is cross-generational: young, old, young-at-heart: all will be heard.
Francos, Anglos, Natives: you’re all invited. And your words are welcome.

In the unlikely event that your texts are not chosen by our actors and musicians, don’t despair!
The show will go on: we’ll try to get on several stages, starting with the first show, the starter, scheduled for Friday, May 23, 2025 in North Hatley.
